The Department of English Language and Literature held a lecture titled “The Psychology of Stress, Fatigue, Depression – Burnout” as part of its cultural season. The lecture was delivered by psychiatrists Dr. Amir Zarab and Dr. Nithu Maryam from the Fawzia Sultan Healthcare, and was moderated by the Cultural Committee Chair Dr. Moneera Al-Ajlan, on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the College of Arts, Sabah Al-Salem University City. The event was attended by numbers of faculty members and students. 

The lecture covered several key topics, including the causes of anxiety, symptoms of burnout, contributing factors, prevention strategies, and ways to promote mental health in the workplace. 

The session witnessed strong engagement from the audience, who asked numerous questions related to mental health, neurological disorders, and exam-related anxiety and its link to irritable bowel syndrome. The speakers addressed students inquiries, helping broaden their understanding of the topic. 

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Moneera Al-Ajlan honored the distinguished guests with certificates of appreciation, commending the insightful content and its positive impact. She also encouraged organizing similar events aimed at raising awareness about mental health and the importance of preventing burnout.
