An Introductory Account
Since its establishment in 1966, the Faculty of Arts at Kuwait University has welcomed students to pursue higher education degrees that cater to the various needs and requirements of the ever-changing job market, both locally and internationally. In line with the overarching goals of Kuwait University, faculty members remain committed to working together towards academic excellence while seeking to offer students the highest quality of education in a supportive and simulative learning environment.
As a multidisciplinary institution that is increasingly committed to interdisciplinary academic work and research, the Faculty of Arts offers BA degree programs in Arabic Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Philosophy, Mass Communication, and History. The faculty also offers a select number of postgraduate programs in these areas.
Students enrolled at the Department of English Language and Literature (DELL) will join a vibrant multidisciplinary community that encourages and is dependent on critical thinking, creativity, cultural awareness and independence. Through exposure to theory and practice, students are provided with the required tools to navigate and explore the various fields within literature, linguistics and translation. Our students are encouraged to develop a strong work ethic and an ability to function as responsible and productive individuals.
