The Cultural Committee of the Department of History and Archaeology at the College of Arts, under the patronage of the Acting Dean of the College, Prof. Abdulmohsen Al-Tabtabaei, organized a lecture titled “ The Historical Miracles in the Holy Qur’an” , lectured by Prof. Al-Sayyid Mahfouz . 

Prof. Al-Sayyid Mahfouz discussed the concept of miracles in the Qur’an, whether linguistic, scientific, or historical. He defined the notion of historical miracles in the Qur’an and their significance, presenting historical evidence mentioned in the Qur’an that has been confirmed by modern science. He also examined the relationship between historical narratives and Qur’anic texts . 

He highlighted the role of historical miracles in strengthening faith and understanding Islamic history, emphasizing the beauty of the Qur’an in terms of its wording, meanings, and rhetorical structure. Additionally, he discussed how the Qur’an aligns with modern sciences and continues to have an impact across different eras. He also reviewed the historical events addressed in the Qur’an, their accuracy, and the Qur’an’s role in shaping religious, social, educational, and economic values . 

In conclusion, they opened the discussion with many questions raised that enriched the topic and deepened the understanding of its various dimensions. Attendees emphasized the importance of such lectures in promoting religious and cultural awareness, praising the richness of the content and the manner which was presented
