The Cultural Committee of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature Hosts Kuwaiti Writer Prof. Hamad Abdulmohsen Al-Hamad

As part of its efforts to highlight prominent Kuwaiti literary figures, the Cultural Committee of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature hosted the Kuwaiti writer Prof. Hamad Abdulmohsen Al-Hamad. The event was held as a part of the activities of the Cultural Season for the academic year 2025/2026, on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the College of Arts.

The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Arabic Language, Dr. Ali Al-Sarraf, the Rapporteur of the Cultural Committee, Dr. Fadl Zaid, along with a number of faculty members and researchers. The session was moderated by Dr. Anwar Al-Saad.

During the meeting, Prof. Al-Hamad spoke about his literary works and shared his experience with the novel Zaman Al-Bouh (The Time of Confession), as well as the novel Al-Urjuha (The Swing), which was adopted by producers and adapted into a televised drama series. He also discussed his academic and research contributions, noting that he has authored nearly fifty books.

It is worth noting that Prof. Al-Hamad has consistently supported and mentored students through the Kuwaiti Writers Association, and has written dozens of articles in social and literary criticism published in local newspapers and magazines. In addition, he is widely recognized for his active engagement in literary criticism and his participation in cultural events, reflecting his deep interest in societal issues.
