The Cultural Committee of the Department of French Language and Cultures organized a lecture titled “Youth: Challenges and Visions” as part of the Cultural Cafe activities, on Monday, May 5, 2025.
The lecture focused on the challenges that young people face in their daily lives and aimed to promote the use of the French language and train students to use it more easily in everyday life situations, through addressing a topic of great relevance to youth namely, the obstacles they encounter in life.
At the beginning of the lecture, Dr. Hani Mahmoud presented a text on the challenges youth face at the professional, personal, social, and global levels, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of how to face these obstacles, especially regarding the use of the French language and how to manage conversations and daily life in French.
The discussion among participants and attendees was conducted in French, focusing on how to face challenges. Questions about personal difficulties were raised, and opinions, solutions, and suggestions were discussed to overcome these challenges.
The activity aims to enhance students ability to manage conversations in French through listening comprehension and written expression, which boosts both linguistic and social skills. It also fosters critical thinking by analyzing challenges and solutions, builds self-confidence, and creates opportunities for students and attendees to exchange experiences.
